Private label turns a supplier relationship into a brand. Done well, it gives you higher margins, customer loyalty and a range no competitor can copy line-for-line. This is the complete guide to building your own dental instrument brand with ErgoDenta — from MOQ to marking to lead times.
Private label (you sell our instruments under your brand) and OEM (we manufacture to your specification) are two of the most profitable things a dental dealer can do. This guide explains how it works at ErgoDenta, what's possible, and how to get started. For the design story behind the instruments, see Private Label Dental Instruments — Danish Design.
Private label vs OEM — what's the difference?
- Private label: our existing, CE-marked catalogue instruments, branded with your name/logo. Fastest route to your own line.
- OEM: instruments built or adapted to your specification — handle colour, marking, configuration, kit composition. More bespoke, longer lead time.
Most partners start with private label on proven best-sellers, then move selected lines to OEM as volumes grow.
What you can customise
- Laser marking with your brand name and catalogue number on the instrument.
- Handle colour and range — ErgoLite resin colours, ErgoX silicone, ErgoSteel.
- Kits and assortments — curated trays and cassettes under your brand (see sterilization & organisation).
- Packaging — plain, pouched or branded; with or without printed inserts.
Regulatory — who holds responsibility
This is where a serious partner matters. ErgoDenta is the EU legal manufacturer and holds the ISO 13485 system and EU MDR technical documentation; instruments are CE-marked and FDA-registered. For private label, the regulatory framework stays with us as manufacturer — you get compliant product without taking on manufacturer obligations you may not be set up for. We'll align labelling and UDI with your branding correctly.
MOQ, lead times and getting started
Minimum order quantities, marking set-up and lead times depend on the range and the level of customisation (catalogue private-label is far quicker than bespoke OEM). The practical path: tell us the lines you want to brand and your target market, and we'll come back with MOQs, a marking proof and a delivery schedule.
