MUDr. Vladislav Růžička
Dr. Růžička runs a private practice in Prague (Anděl) with a strong focus on microscopic endodontics. Around 60 % of his clinical time goes to microscope-assisted root-canal treatment, most of it complicated retreatments referred by colleagues, and he lectures and gives hands-on workshops on endodontic topics.
Where 0.7 mm makes the difference
In microsurgical endodontics the mirror has to share the access cavity with the light, the file and the ultrasonic tip. A head that is half as thick gives back exactly the millimetres that decide whether you can see the orifice and still work on it — and, as Dr. Růžička notes, the same applies to hard-to-reach caries.
Because the mirrors are made for everyday use rather than kept as a precious spare, several can sit on the tray at once: one round for orientation, one slim oval for the isthmus, one angled for the distal molar.
